At Casa y Deco, we love birthdays because they are the perfect excuse to transform our home without breaking the bank. Celebrating at home has a special charm: it’s intimate, comfortable, and reflects your personal style. The best part is that you don’t need to hire decorators or spend a fortune: with a bit of imagination and some key elements, you can create a festive space that your guests won’t forget.
The key is to plan ahead and focus on the most visible areas. It’s not about decorating the entire house: choose the living room, the entrance, or the area where most people will spend their time. This allows you to concentrate efforts and budget where they really count, leaving other rooms untouched. I confess that my biggest mistake was trying to decorate absolutely everything and ended up exhausted with no time to enjoy my guests.

Start with the colour palette. You don’t need to use balloons in every colour of the rainbow. If you choose three main tones—such as white, gold, and a vibrant colour like terracotta or navy blue—you’ll create an elegant and cohesive atmosphere. Pastel colours work well for quieter birthdays, while saturated tones bring energy to youthful celebrations.
